The Stance of the Believer

By Creflo Dollar

Summary

As believers, it’s important that we know the truth about our salvation. We were saved because of our faith in Jesus Christ. We did nothing to earn it; it was given as a gift from God. This directly contradicts religious thinking, which tells us that we must work hard for our redemption. Because of what Jesus did and our belief in it, we’ve already been made the righteousness of God. This is our stance in Christ, and nothing we do can change that. However, the ongoing process of transforming into perfection in our earthly lives will continue until we get to heaven; this is our state, that only God can change. Trusting His promise to make the necessary changes in us enables Him to bring our state into balance with our stance.

When Will I Be What God Says I Am?

By CDM Staff

Summary

On our Christian walk, we are gradually becoming more and more like Jesus Christ. Despite our progress, however, there is still a gap between who God says we are and what we see in our everyday lives—although He says we are the righteousness of God, sometimes we still do unrighteous things. Our faith in Christ is a critical component in this journey; we must believe what God says we are, even when our lives do not reflect that yet. Our belief in our redemption contradicts what religion tells us, which is that our salvation hinges on what we do. The truth is that we are saved because of what Jesus did, and our trust in that. God never contradicts Himself. Although our stance in perfection was forever determined when we believed in Jesus, our state of perfection, which refers to our earthly lives, is still unfinished..

How to Recognize When You’re in a Spiritual Battle

By Creflo Dollar

Summary

Believers need to know about fighting in the spiritual realm. When something bad happens, it’s a mistake to assume that it happened because we’ve done something wrong. There is a devil loose in the world, and he is targeting us; his intention is to steal, kill, and destroy. This enemy is real and will fight us every step of the way to prevent us from walking the worthy walk God asks of us. It is therefore imperative to know that we are at war. We must not only defend ourselves, but also go on the offensive using God’s Word. Putting on the Word in the same way we put on armor gives us the supernatural level of protection we need to deal with an enemy who has already been defeated but doesn’t want us to know it. Faith in God’s Word—and a willingness to use it as a weapon as needed—keeps Satan at bay so that he cannot harass or terrorize us.

Five Conditions of a Worthy Walk (Part 2)

By Creflo Dollar

Summary

Understanding how deeply God’s grace impacts our lives frees us from toiling in self-effort to please Him. In a world where most people work hard to earn God’s blessings, all we need to do is to accept and believe in His finished works. We have already been blessed and accepted as members of God’s royal family; those things happened automatically when we got born again. He has given us undeserved gifts because we are—and always will be—His beloved children, regardless of what we do. The knowledge that we have been cleansed of all sin and made righteous in God’s eyes changes our motives from fear of punishment to a desire to do what pleases Him. This enables us to walk as God’s sons and daughters, which is now our true identity. Faith in what Jesus did for us on the cross enables us to bring our earthly walk increasingly in tune with God’s will for us.

Living Life on a Divine Plane (Part 2)

By Creflo Dollar

Summary

The world tells us to always practice good morals and do the right thing. However, we cannot achieve morality without Jesus; our motives matter. The mistake many people make is trying to live moral lives for others’ approval, instead of for God’s approval. Doing good through self- effort simply to please others is a temporary motivation that will not last; doing good because the Holy Spirit has shed God’s love in our hearts is what He really wants to see. Trusting Him to work in us and change us on the inside, until everything we do is motivated by love, elevates us to a level we cannot reach on our own.

The Worthy Walk (Part 3)

By Creflo Dollar

Summary

A life of grace focuses on what God has already done for us. We have been saved and delivered and made righteous and holy; this is our stance in heaven and is independent of our behavior during our Christian walk. When we have accepted Christ, God sees us as faultless, regardless of our earthly state. He then appeals to us to live in harmony with our identity established in Him in light of what He did. The process of harmonizing our natural lives with what God has already declared requires the work of the Holy Spirit, who gradually changes us on the inside. The motivation behind our successful transformation is not fear of going to hell, but faith in God’s love for us. Reading the Bible through the lens of grace instead of through the lens of religion gives us a whole new understanding of God’s Word.
