I don't check my e–mail very often because it's usually full of junk or chain
e–mails from my family and friends; so I figure, why bother! However, as I
was sitting in my office on Tuesday, the Holy Spirit strongly impressed upon me
to check my e–mail. So I sat down at my computer and logged on. Sixty new
messages! Not completely sure what God wanted me to see, I opened and read every
e–mail. As usual, most of them were junk. However, as I was about to log off,
I noticed an e–mail from a very good friend. The subject line read: "HIV/AIDS
Infected Man Spreads Virus to Women."
I opened the e–mail. It led to a link of a video about a man who was purposefully
infecting women with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. As the video opened and loaded,
I was unsure what to expect. When it began playing, I listened intently to this
young man give a detailed account, complete with names, of women he had deliberately
infected. As I listened, my heart sank, and a deep pain ran through me. I thought,
what is this world coming to?
As he continued his livid ranting, I thought about the multitudes of people whose
lives would forever be changed because of his actions. Not only was this virus killing
him, it was potentially annihilating countless others as well. My first instinct
was to be angry, but instead of allowing anger to consume me, I asked the Lord why
He wanted me to see this? That's when the Lord arrested me, reminding me that although
this man was doing a very horrible thing, God still loved him. That's when I began
to look at the man behind the words.
Although this man came across as mean and vindictive, I began to hear the spirit
behind what he was saying. He was obviously hurt, and wanted to hurt others. That
was also Satan's plan when he was cast down from Heaven–he took a third of
the angels with him! But we can't allow ourselves to be taken down by the enemy.
More than anything, I wrote this article to raise awareness. AIDS and HIV are real.
People are dying en masse and we cannot allow this endemic to continue. It's time
for the Body of Christ to pray for the health and healing of this nation. As we
pray, we must also be sure to equip ourselves with the practical and spiritual information
necessary to evade this obliterating end–time epidemic.
It's important to remember we have an enemy who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy
us, and to accomplish his plan, he'll use any vessel that yields to his demonic
activity. Now, more than any other time before, it's imperative that we live according
to the Word of God, which protects us from destruction. Summon God's protection
by confessing your covenant right to safety. Hiding in the pavilion of God's Word
ensures you are shielded from the wiles of the wicked!
