Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the power of God, I've recently begun
teaching a more in—depth and insightful perspective of the Abrahamic covenant,
and what it signifies in the life of a Believer. However, instead of focusing on
the blessing, peace, healing, prosperity, and all the other awesome components of
our covenant with God, I've been concentrating on the covenant—connecting
blood of Jesus; why it's the only reason we as non—Jewish people have a right
to the covenant God made with Abraham.
This past resurrection Sunday, I revisited the Abrahamic covenant to explain how
it originally applied to Abraham, his seed, which is Christ, and Jewish people.
So if you were not born Jewish like me and countless other Christians, you didn't
have a right to the blessing God gave Abraham. I reviewed the entire Abrahamic covenant,
tracing the lineage of the blessing directly to present day Christians, and how
we became partakers of the blessing through the blood of Jesus.
The blood of Jesus is our covenant—connector. The only avenue by which a person
can enter into a covenant is through the shedding of blood. When Jesus said on the
cross, "It is finished," He was referring to the Abrahamic covenant being available
to everyone who by faith, believes in His blood.
Everyday we hear songs about the blood of Jesus, and its power; however, we must
understand what that blood has accomplished before we can truly testify to its miracle—working
power. The blood of Jesus destroyed the curse, removed the sin which separated us
from God, and released the blessing over non—Jewish people. So now, I understand
that my faith is solely based on believing in what the blood has purchased on my
behalf.
As Believers, we must fully grasp the significance and the power of Jesus' blood,
as well as how to appropriate it in our lives. Doing so positions us to experience
the reality of the blessing Jesus died to give us. Now we can get enthusiastic when
we hear sermons about the Abrahamic covenant, because through the blood of Jesus,
we have the utmost confidence that it applies to us! What an astounding sacrifice
He made for us!
I love you and encourage you to continue studying the death, burial, and resurrection
of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. No matter the time of year, learning about
the covenant—connecting blood of Jesus is always faith—boosting and
life—changing. Remember, His blood gives you access to the authority of Heaven,
and equips you to overcome the enemy and live a victorious life.
