When I began to write this article, I had what I thought was a great revelation to share. However, as I began writing, I asked myself, Why am I doing this? Instantly the thought came to mind—I want to touch people’s lives with the Gospel; I want to impart understanding into people; I want to edify and encourage people. However, my validations were immediately shut down by a much stronger thought! What if someone’s life depended on what I’m writing? What would I tell them? All of a sudden, I was humbled—stripped of religion and routine, as I had an image of a Christian on their last leg, desperately surfing the Web for answers.

If I could give you one word to help you get the answers you are looking for, I will say: BELIEVE! You may feel as if God has forgotten you, or that He could not possibly love you anymore; however, things can and will change if you will simply believe what God has said in His Word. I know it sounds simple; nevertheless, it is the answer!

Please hear my heart on this. Jesus Himself said the only work we must do is to believe God. That is our job. The tragedy I see in the Body of Christ is churches full of people who hear and can quote the Word, but struggle to actually believe it!

I am fed up with seeing God’s people experiencing defeat because they do not believe. The truth is, we are bound or set free by what we believe and act upon. How can we expect God to move on our behalf if we really do not believe He will? Now I fully understand why Jesus questioned the two blind men who begged Him for mercy, asking them if they believed He could heal them. Because no matter how anointed and powerful Jesus is, if those men did not believe, they would not be healed. This lets me know believing is a personal issue—no one else can do it for you.

Faith is not as complicated as people tend to make it. It is a matter of simply taking God at His Word, without any outside evidence. The Word is the proof that gives you confidence in the results you have not seen yet. Once you know what God says, you can take it to the bank! He cannot lie and what He says will always come to pass. All you have to do is say, “I believe.” Once you do, your faith is activated.

Faith must be in two places—your mouth and your heart. You believe with your inward man, and you back up that inner belief by the confession of your mouth. What you speak gives voice to the faith in your heart, and demonstrates your belief. Believing and speaking go hand in hand.

Regardless of what you may be dealing with, have confidence that your life is not over. In fact, the best is yet to come! God loves you unconditionally and for eternity! Your job is to study His Word, and believe what He has said for yourself! I know your life can change, and so does God. He is just waiting for you to believe in Him more than in your present circumstances.

I love you with all my heart, but most importantly, God loves you with all His heart. Can you believe it?
