Summary
A humble attitude is extremely important to God. As Christians, we may be doing all the right things but still falling short because we’re doing them in pride; choosing instead to be humble allows Him to exalt us. Depending on and trusting in God produces humility in us. This saves us from becoming arrogant and boasting about what we did on our own. There is nothing wrong with accomplishing things, as long as we rely on God in the process; relying on ourselves leads to pride, arrogance, and boastfulness. Our trust in the finished works of Jesus, and not in our own works, is pleasing in God’s eyes. Placing our full faith in Him helps us to maintain the proper mindset so that we don’t become proud.
