31 Jul.

“Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of
unbelief” (Hebrews 4:11).

As Christians, believing is a work of faith for which we are held accountable. We live in an
unbelieving world; sometimes standing firm in our faith and staying at rest requires hard work.

30 Jul.

“Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth” (Mark 9:23).

Faith removes all limitations and opens the door to amazing supernatural manifestations. God’s power is limited only by our unbelief.

29 Jul.

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18).

When we’ve been born again, the Holy Spirit accepts responsibility for our transformation. It doesn’t matter how much of a mess we are right now; He promises that if we stay in the Word, He will change us.

28 Jul.

“Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God” (2 Corinthians 3:5).

Under the covenant of grace, the emphasis has shifted from self-effort to faith in God. We’ll never be sufficient on our own merits; He is the one who qualifies us.

27 Jul.

“And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us” (Romans 5:5).

We’ll never be put to shame when we place our trust in the Holy Spirit. He’s the one who constantly reminds us of God’s love for us.

26 Jul.

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live” (Deuteronomy 30:19).

God wants the best for us, but He’ll never force it on us. He made us free moral agents, and He’ll always respect our right to choose.

25 Jul.

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you” (John 16:7).

The Holy Spirit fills many needs in our lives. He is the Spirit of God, Himself, and the administrator of the new covenant of grace.

24 Jul.

“Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart” (Psalm 37:4).

In this context, to “delight” is to come to know God and what He has done, and to receive Him. A relationship with Him changes our desires to the point where we want only what is in His will.

23 Jul.

“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you” (John 15:7).

When we spend time in God’s Word, it shapes what we ask Him for. We eventually begin to ask for only the things that are in His will.

22 Jul.

“Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty” (2 Corinthians 3:17).

Under the covenant of grace, the Holy Spirit was sent to free us from bondage to self-effort. To receive this freedom, we must accept it by faith.

21 Jul.

“Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise” (John 5:19).

The Holy Spirit will never tell us anything different than what God, Himself, says. We’ll never go wrong when we make the Spirit our trusted, lifelong partner.

20 Jul.

“But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you” (John 14:26, AMPC).

The Holy Spirit comforts us when we’re hurting, counsels us when we’re confused, strengthens us when we’re weak, and stands ready to help us when we get in trouble. We can’t possibly be successful without a relationship with Him.

19 Jul.

18 Jul.

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (Romans 8:14).

Under the old-covenant Law of Moses, there was no opportunity to be led by the Holy Spirit; therefore, the people were servants, not sons. The new covenant of grace changed that.

17 Jul.

“You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins” (Colossians 2:13, NLT).

A sinful nature separates us from God and leads to death. Thankfully, there is now the opportunity to receive new natures that allow us to receive new lives in Christ.

16 Jul.

“Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you” (Luke 10:19, NLT).

When we trust in what Jesus did for us, there is no reason to fear anything or anyone. Our believers’ authority is real.

15 Jul.

“Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin” (Romans 4:8).

When we believe in Jesus Christ and receive salvation, no matter how many times we may behave badly, God still sees us as righteous. This was impossible under the law, but it’s available to us under grace.

14 Jul.

“So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ” (Romans 10:17, NLT).

The more we hear the Gospel of Grace preached and taught, the more our faith increases. Only the Word of God has the power to change us from the inside out.

13 Jul.

“And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world” (1 John 2:2).

When the world is trapped in guilt and sin-consciousness, sin isn’t an issue for the believer. Jesus permanently took care of sin on the cross; believing this gives us peace.

12 Jul.

“For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin” (Hebrews 4:15).

When we go through tough times or face temptations, we’re not alone. Jesus went through the same struggles as we do, but didn’t give in to them; when we depend on Him, we access His strength.

11 Jul.

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).

We never have to be afraid to give generously because God, out of His abundance, promises to take care of everything we need in life. When we trust in this promise, we’ll begin to see financial giving as a gain, not a loss.

10 Jul.

“And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you” (Luke 17:6).

We don’t need “big faith” to get results, simply a willingness to trust what God says to us. Employing our faith starts in the natural realm, but ends in the supernatural realm.

9 Jul.

“Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done” (Matthew 21:21).

Faith is an amazingly powerful force that the world doesn’t understand. Trusting God enables us to do things that are impossible in the natural.

8 Jul.

“For we live by believing and not by seeing” (2 Corinthians 5:7, NLT).

Believers walk according to faith in what God has said, regardless of what they see going on around them. Living by faith is sometimes hard work; we succeed only with God’s help.

7 Jul.

“Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye” (Mark 7:13).

God wants to influence the course of our lives, but He is unable to do so if we put religious tradition ahead of the Word of truth. Tradition often contradicts the Word; those who follow it neutralize the effect God can have on everything concerning us.

6 Jul.

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth” (Acts 1:8).

Power is the ability to get the job done. The Holy Spirit is the one who gives us this ability.

5 Jul.

“For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful” (1 Corinthians 14:14).

Praying in tongues frees us from having to rely on intellectual knowledge to pray the perfect prayer to God. The evidence of speaking in tongues is an indication of baptism by the Holy Spirit.

4 Jul.

“So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation” (Hebrews 9:28).

For believers, sin is no longer an issue. Jesus permanently took care of sin on the cross; we now have forgiveness for the mistakes we make, and salvation that cannot be taken away.

3 Jul.

“Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil” (Matthew 4:1).

No one wants to be tempted, but the Holy Spirit knows every course of action for us to take to succeed against temptation. We have access to the same Spirit Jesus depended on during His time on earth.

2 Jul.

“And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:49).

“The promise of my Father” is the Holy Spirit. Before we go off to carry out our own plans, we must first wait for directions from the Spirit; this is the only way we can succeed.

1 Jul.

“Mi Dios, pues, suplirá todo lo que os falta conforme a sus riquezas en gloria en Cristo Jesús” (Filipenses 4:19).

Confiando en Dios como nuestro recurso nos asegura que siempre tendremos más que suficiente para nuestras necesidades. Creyentes no tienen que temer de dar.

1 Jul.

“Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts” (Zechariah 4:6).

The Holy Spirit is willing to work through anyone, regardless of their behavior. All that’s necessary is a heart open to His prompting, and a willingness to yield to Him.
