For the week of March 13, 2023 Genuine Transformation

There’s nothing more frustrating than constantly struggling with the same issue but making no progress. If we feel like we’re spinning our wheels and wondering when we’ll see a change for the better, we may be shocked to realize that it starts with our belief system, not with our actions. True change begins on the inside of us and requires a change in thinking if we want to see transformation in our lives. As believers, if we continue in the Word, we’ll know the truth, and the truth will make us free.

Changing for the better takes on new significance when we factor in the suffering and tribulation that’s a part of every believer’s life. Going through something and trusting God to bring us out of it has a way of transforming our thinking. Having faith in God’s favor toward us is central in this process. Genuine repentance is a change in the way we think; God’s goodness leads a person to repent.

It’s God will that we make forward progress so that we won’t stay trapped in our problem. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever; believing that He stays the same so that we can experience positive change in our own lives gives us leverage to break free. Deliverance was one of the things Jesus provided on the cross; our faith takes what God made available through His grace.

Trusting that God is always willing and able to pull us out of a pit keeps us from losing heart. Our afflictions are but for a moment; what waits on the other side of them far more exceeds them in the eternal weight of glory. We can rejoice knowing that relying on Him makes all our predicaments temporary.

Prayer:

God, when we’re stuck in a situation, we don’t have to stay there. Learning to think differently, according to Your Word, helps free us and move us forward again. Thank You for the positive change that came through Your Son. In Jesus’ name, amen.
