For the week of April 15, 2024 Life on the Heavenly Plane

We all want to live the best life possible. Most people try to achieve this through self-effort. However, there’s a divine level of life that we can live only through the discipline of grace. This kind of living requires the presence of the Holy Spirit, on whom we must rely to teach us God’s morals and help us do things impossible through our own human abilities.

When we believed God and got born again, His Spirit began maturing us spiritually. This is an ongoing process which He promised to continue for the rest of our lives. We can be certain that God, who began a good work in us, will continue His work until it’s finally finished. He will perfect that which concerns us; He made us, and therefore will never forsake the work of His hands.

Experiencing God’s best in life means not having to settle for the subpar that the world accepts. We have abilities that others don’t have because we align our lives with His Word. God is working in us, giving us the desire and the power to do what pleases Him. “Power” is defined as the ability to get the job done.

There’s no comparison between the kind of life we’ve grown accustomed to and the level of living grace elevates us to, but there is a cost involved. When the enemy sees us leading such a life, he’ll come against us with everything he has. All who live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. Despite this, it’s well worth it, considering the supernatural life we gain.

Stepping out in faith puts us in the enemy’s line of fire, but he’s a defeated enemy. Trusting in God allows us to live a life of grace, which is impossible through our own efforts. Letting His Spirit guide us through every situation we encounter teaches us the kind of lifestyle that reflects who we are in Christ, with no struggle involved.

God, You offer us a life unattainable through human effort. Receiving this life allows the Holy Spirit to work in us and mature us in the things of heaven. Thank You for granting us access to the supernatural. In Jesus’ name, amen.
